S Curve Strategies Founder April Bolduc was named President of the Electric Auto Association, the world’s leading volunteer organization that accelerates the adoption of electric vehicles by supporting its 80 chapters and thousands of members as they talk neighbor-to-neighbor about the benefits of driving electric.

Their chapters are the heartbeat of the nonprofit and play a vital role in demonstrating that there is an electric vehicle for every lifestyle by annually hosting hundreds of grassroots educational events and test drives. All members no matter their knowledge level are encouraged to attend or volunteer at our events.

Since joining the Electric Auto Association Board in 2019 as Treasurer, April has been instrumental in our new website development and the creation of our blog. Here, we can all view and share an impressive collection of articles keeping us up to date on global and local EV news, a hallmark of the Electric Auto Association.

April has partnered with the Electric Auto Association on EV test drive events since the first mainstream EVs hit San Diego roads in 2010. She has been driving electric since 2011 and worked to grow the adoption of electric cars over this time.

It’s been exciting to have electric transportation as such an integral part of my everyday life in work, play and volunteerism. The 100 Electric Auto Association chapters impressively work year-round to educate about the benefits of driving electric and speak to thousands every year.

Since 1967

Formed in 1967 as a way to share the benefits of transitioning gasoline vehicles to electric, the Electric Auto Association saw its membership as a result of two gas shortages in 1970 and 1973 that gripped the U.S. causing drivers to face around-the-block lines at their local gas stations. A group of Silicon Valley, CA engineers banded together to respond to this shortage.

They created an educational effort as part of the Electric Auto Association that offered to assist anyone interested in converting their gasoline cars to electric and reduce dependence on foreign oil. It was there the nonprofit’s first chapter was created and since then has evolved into an effort that has spurred electric vehicle market growth across an entire continent.
